Authorities say two people were injured in a one vehicle rollover accident on a Scotts Bluff County road this morning in which drug or alcohol impairment is suspected.
According to Sheriff Mark Overman, around 3:45 a.m. the driver of a 2008 Dodge pickup lost control driving north bound on County Road 10 and struck a guard rail on a bridge over the Tri-State Canal north of Highway 26, causing the pickup to go airborne and land on its top.
Overman says the driver was restrained and was able to get out, but the passenger was not restrained and had to be extricated.
Both were transported to Regional West, the passenger by Airlink and the driver by Valley Ambulance, and Overman says the bridge was damaged enough the County Roads Department was called to block the roadway.
Nebraska State Patrol troopers and firefighters from Morrill and Mitchell also responded to the scene.
