YORK- In Thursday night’s York City Council Meeting the topic of reopening the park and rec facilities in the community was addressed as the COVID-19 Pandemic continues. The conversation between the council and Director of YPR, Cheree Folts was geared towards reopening some of the facilities on June 1st. Following the meeting on the York Parks and Recreation Facebook page, they posted that the parks will re-open on June 1st and that the Community Center will open shortly after that. It also said in the post they will have more details about youth and adult programs and facility hours next week. The City and Parks and Rec will seek more guidance from Governor Pete Ricketts before announcements are made about the Family Aquatic Center.
