Area Golfers Perform Well at Districts, Qualify for State

Area Golfers Perform Well at Districts, Qualify for State

District meets were held for girls high school golf on Monday and Tuesday, October 7-8.

At the C-3 meet in Battle Creek on Monday, Thurston-Cuming County’s Jazzmin Nolze placed 5th with a 97, while Emma Beutler also scored a 97, placing 6th. Both qualify for next week’s state meet.

At the C-2 meet in Oakland on Tuesday, West Point-Beemer finished as the district runner-up as a team, shooting a 410 while Oakland-Craig placed third with a 449. Clarkson/Leigh finished 10th as a team, shooting 626.

Individually, West Point-Beemer’s Brook Diekemper was the district champion, shooting an 81. Also for the Cadets, Shelbie Woerman placed third with a 91 and Kailey Johnson finished 10th with a 104.

For Oakland-Craig, Edie Anderson placed fifth overall shooting a 92.

Ashley Guillen had the top score for Clarkson/Leigh with a 141.

Both West Point-Beemer and Oakland-Craig qualify for state golf as a team.

The Class C Girls State Golf Meet will be Held Monday and Tuesday, October 14-15 at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte.
