HEBRON- The BDS Eagles scored early and often, as they manhandled Thayer Central 60-12 in high school football action Friday night in Hebron. After going three and out on their first possession, BDS scored on their next six possessions to jump out to a 46-0 halftime lead. First-half big plays included scoring jaunts of 62 and 21 yards by junior running back Aaron Mick, a 19-yard scamper by junior Dalton Kleinschmidt, and scoring tosses from junior quarterback Dominic Quinones to Kleinschmidt (10 yards), and a 27-yard strike to senior Isaac Else.
Despite the big deficit, the Titans came out strong, recovering an onside kick to start the third quarter. That led to a six-play, 38-yard drive, culminating with a 25-yard touchdown pass from junior QB Logan Weidel to junior wide receiver Andrew Heinrichs. Thayer Central added a 30-yard touchdown pass from Weidel to junior wide receiver Trey Fischer in the 4th quarter, but it wasn’t enough as BDS remained unbeaten (8-0) with the 60-12 triumph.
Thayer Central finishes the season 3-5, while BDS heads for another appearance in the state football playoffs.
