Briar Cliff softball coach Erin Bly has announced the signings of Alyssa Campbell and Sahra Schwartz to the 2019-20 Charger recruiting class.
“Sahra and Alyssa are going to be great additions to this program,” said Bly. “Both come from great programs and are incredibly passionate about this game and competing at a high level.”
Both Schwartz and Campbell come to the Cliff after finishing very successful high school campaigns and a travel ball career that garnered two USSSA state championships in 2018 and 2019 and a USSSA national championship in 2018. Schwartz was also awarded all-state honors during her senior year of high school.
Both commits say they chose Briar Cliff because of the positive connections they made while on campus and the opportunity BC will give them to continue to grow in the game of softball.
“I chose Briar Cliff because I felt an instant connection and a great support system from both the teachers and coaches,” said Campbell. “I look forward to growing stronger as a person, player and student.”
Campbell says her parents have always supported her love of softball and gives credit to her past coaches for bettering her as an athlete and teaching her what it means to be part of a family.
Schwartz is looking forward to growing on and off the field at the Cliff.
“I chose Briar Cliff because I felt very welcomed and loved all the people,” she said. “I am looking forward to playing college softball, having a successful academic career, and getting to experience college life.”
Schwartz thanks her mom Raelynn Jacobson and her stepdad Mike Jacobson for their continued support.
