GNAC tennis, golf, softball results

The fall sports season is starting to hit the home stretch for a few sports as Scottsbluff and Gering teams competed in annual GNAC action for softball, tennis, and golf.

Girls Golf

Both golf teams used Friday’s meet at Monument Shadows to gear up for the District meet slated for tomorrow (Monday).

North Platte won the meet with a score of 325 followed by Gering at 336 and Scottsbluff was third with a round of 346. Columbus, Hastings, and McCook rounded out the team standings.

North Platte’s Baylee Steele (71) captured the top spot individually with teammate Karsen Morrison (76) edging Madi Schlaepfer of Gering (76) for second place.

Finishing fourth through seventh were Emily Krzyzanowksi and Anna Kelley of Scottsbluff, and Avery Mitchell and Ali Boswell of Gering. Scottsbluff’s Halle Shaddick finished tenth.

The B-4 District Meet will take place tomorrow in Ogallala.

Boys Tennis

With winds steady at about 20-25 mph and gusting at around 30 mph at time the conditions were not ideal for tennis on Saturday in North Platte but there were still some solid performances from the Scottsbluff and Gering kids.

Gering and Scottsbluff combined to go 1-5 on the day in North Platte. The lone win was Gering knocking off Scottsbluff 10-9.
Brylee Dean homered and drove in four runs while Maddie Wiese finished with three RBI’s and two hits.
Scottsbluff got multi-hit games from Taylor Klein, Kymber Shallenberger, and Malina Garcia. Klein homered in the game as part of a three-homer day.
