AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State softball program released its 2020 schedule today, featuring 15 home games contests at the Cyclone Sports Complex. In addition to three home series vs. Big 12 opponents, the home slate also features the annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series rivalry game vs. Iowa (April 15).
The Cyclones will play an exceptionally strong slate, as at least 20 of their 56 regular season games will be against teams that appeared in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, with the possibility to add more pending results of non-conference tournaments.
Iowa State opens the year with 32 consecutive games away from home, including six tournaments on the road, spanning five different states. The season starts in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Paradise Classic (Feb. 6-8). It will be the program’s first-ever trip to the state of Hawaii, and the Cyclones will battle Memphis, Northern Colorado and Hawaii at the tournament. Up next is the first of two trips to the state of Florida to play in the Knight’s Classic (Feb. 14-16), hosted by UCF in Orlando, Fla.

ISU travels south for the I-75 Challenge (Feb. 28-March 1), where they will play games at Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State and Georgia State. A return to the Sunshine State is in order next, as the Cyclones travel to Tampa, Fla., for the USF Tournament (March 6-8).
The road then swings west, taking the Cyclones to Los Angeles, Calif., for the LMU Tournament, hosted by Loyola Marymount, March 13-15.

Cyclone fans will get their first opportunity to see the team play at home when they battle Oklahoma in a three-game series, March 27-29. Another in-state game follows when the Cyclones travel to Drake on March 31.
Softball returns to the Cyclone Sports Complex for the Cyclone Classic (April 3-5), where Iowa State will battle Northern Colorado, Illinois-Chicago and South Dakota State. It will be the first regular season tournament Iowa State has hosted since 2016, and the first outdoor regular season tournament since 1988.
The Cyclones battle UNI in Cedar Falls on April 7, followed by a three-game at Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla., (April 9-11). A pair of non-conference home games follow as Iowa State takes on Omaha (April 14) and Iowa (April 15) in the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series. The home stretch then continues when the Cyclones host Texas April 17-19 for a three-game Big 12 series.
A trip to Vermillion, S.D., is up next on April 22 before yet another conference series at home vs. Baylor April 24-26.
Iowa State closes the regular season with a mid-week contest vs. Drake (April 28), before the final conference series at Kansas (May 1-3)
This will mark the fourth consecutive season with a Big 12 Softball Championship. The tournament, which was reinstated in 2017, will return to Oklahoma City, Okla., May 8-9, at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium Complex, also home to the NCAA Women’s College World Series.
