Lexington begins the Cross Country season on Thursday as they host the Minuteman Invite at the Overton Golf Course. Coach Sam Jilka has this outlook on the year. The Minutemaids, powered by the talents of state medalists Kennadi Ureste and Kayla Barrios will be seeking to return to the state competition and improve on their fourth place team placing in 2019. Assisting the two juniors, will be sophomore Marissa Garcia who was a state team member as well as state qualifier, senior Janet Aguado. Senior Alexis Ureste is also expected to contribute. The Minutemaids have added some younger depth but experience will be necessary for those athletes to help contribute to the team success. According to coach Jilka, Kennadi and Kayla put in a strong summer training routine which has helped establish their base leading into the season.
