Sutton Takes Down Battle Creek in State Playoffs

Sutton Takes Down Battle Creek in State Playoffs
The Sutton Mustangs took down the Battle Creek Braves 44-28 on Friday to advance in the Class C-2 playoffs.
The No. 1 seed Mustangs fell behind early. Battle Creek, the No. 8 seed, scored on its first drive. Sutton running back Jackson Perrien scored once in the first half, but the Mustangs had two turnovers as well and eventually trailed 21-8 at halftime.
Sutton’s offense then took over in the second half. They scored on their first two drives with a touchdown run by Perrien and quarterback Cade Wiseman to take the lead, and never looked back.
Cade Wiseman had a team-high 40 carries and three touchdowns, and Perrien had 19 carries and three touchdowns.
The Mustangs will hit the road to No. 5 seed Bancroft-Rosalie-Lyons-Decatur in the semifinals next Friday.
