HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Mariah Murdie recorded her first double-digit scoring effort of the season in the 57-40 loss at Northern Kentucky Thursday evening.

The Mavericks (2-4) were limited to just 16 points in the first half as Northern Kentucky (1-4) forced them to 27 turnovers in the game.

•    Murdie was the only double-digit scorer for the team tonight, as Elena Pilakouta and Claire Killian followed with eight and six points, respectively.
•    Omaha shot 36% from the field, 17.6% from three (3-for-17) and 1-for-6 from free throw.
•    Omaha falls to 0-1 against Northern Kentucky and 3-1 against Horizon League teams.

Omaha fell into a double-digit hole in the first quarter. The Norse closed out the last 3:29 of the quarter on an 8-2 run and extended its lead at 18-8 over Omaha after one. NKU’s scoring run spilled into the second quarter as the Mavericks found themselves in a 13-point deficit at the 8:03 mark. At the half, Omaha trailed 30-16.

The Mavericks had trouble stopping the NKU run in the second half as a 9-0 Norse run opened the third made it a
39-18 game. Omaha trailed by as many as 26 at the 4:07 mark in the third. The team, however, was able to weather some of the storm and cut it to 19 after three quarter of play. Omaha was able to limit Northern Kentucky to just six points in the fourth, but the gap was too big as the game ended in a 17-point decision.

Omaha has a week off before hitting the road to the Southern Mississippi Classic in Hattiesburg, Miss. The Mavericks play two games in two days from Nov. 29-30. Omaha takes on VCU the first day at 6 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. game against Mississippi Valley State. For more information, visit
