York College is updating its fan capacity at indoor events to help combat the recent rise in cases within the Four Corners Health District. “In light of the Covid-19 risk dial moving in the higher risk category we want York College to help make sure we are doing everything we can to help our community,” stated Jared Stark, Vice President of Athletics and Enrollment.
Effective immediately all indoor events will be limited to 25% fan capacity. This will allow fans to social distance and keep them as safe as possible while on campus. For volleyball and basketball, this will allow the Freeman Center to accommodate approximately 220 fans. For wrestling, the 25% fan capacity will be in effect but the total number of fans will depend on the type of event. For duals, 220 fans will be standard, while an Open will depend on the number of participants and teams.
“We understand this can be difficult for some people as they want to support the student-athletes in person, but the reality is we are trying to maintain the health and safety of all participants,” commented Stark. “All fans will still be able to watch online as we are committed to broadcasting all home events.” To watch the home contests go to https://portal.
York College students, faculty, and staff will be given the opportunity to purchase their tickets before the general public. Family of participating York student-athletes will also have an opportunity to access tickets before being made available to the general public. Any remaining tickets will open to the public two days prior to the event.
All tickets must be purchased online through our ticketing portal:https://www.ycpanthers.
